Eight course lute with natural finish. Features sheesham scalloped staves that have white pinstripes in between on the body. The neck, nut, bridge, end peg and tuning pegs/levers are also made out of sheesham. It has 4 nylon wound strings and 11 rectified nylon strings. The sound board is made out of Canadian spruce wood and its one sound hole has an intricate laser cut design. There is also a beautiful laser cut design on the back of peg box. This lute has 8 nylon frets on neck and 4 finished sheesham frets on sound board. The bridge is made out of sheesham with a top plate made out of lace wood and has a mustache shape. This instrument is made for a right handed player and you can easily attach a strap for playing because of end peg. The tuning method for instrument is the normal 8 course tuning, but varies depending on player preference: (from high to low) G4, D4, D4, A3, A3, F3, F3, C4, C3, G3, G2, F3, F2, D3, D2. SPECIAL NOTE ON STRINGS: There is no warranty on strings. Manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument has completed a long journey before it ever begins the final leg to your home. During this time the elements affect the strings and may shorten their lifespan. It occasionally happens that a string will fail during that final leg of the journey. Therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings soon after it arrives. If you are a student you may want to change your strings every 3-4 months. If you are a rock star you may need to change your strings every week. If you store your instrument, you should consider changing the strings when you pick it up again.
